The Workshop at the School in Malvas

One of the center points of our program is the training of the people who live in the villages in which we work in the theory and use of solar power.

In July of 1999 this took the form of a three day workshop in which sixteen people took classes in solar power, held at the school in Malvas. By the end of the program they had a good grounding in ideas like Ohm's Law, series and parallel circuits, battery storage, safety issues in wiring and working with photovoltaic panels and batteries, and many other technical issues in solar engineering.  They installed two battery charging stations as part of the workshop.

The participants were left with many pages of material for future reference. They received certificates documenting their successful completion of the program.
